Current - BC Ministry of Education (music teacher) LTTA Level 3 Artist Training Completion (RCM) Level 1 ORFF Training - Vancouver Community College Completion: Embers Ventures "Build A Business" Course Jessaii is a qualified and experienced vocal coach who has been working with voice coaching clients since the early 90's. She has been singing all her life but completed her professional training in 2001 at the University of Regina where she studied classical music/opera and received her Bachelor of Music Education Degree in Voice. This provided her with a strong foundation for technique, contributing to what she offers as a coach. Singing is 70% confidence and that is built by breaking down the important parts of singing and practicing them consistently. Some of the main concepts she incorporates into her coaching sessions include: 1. singing without pain or strain 2. utilizing breath support + how that applies to phrasing 3. vowel shaping 4. tongue / jaw positioning 5. releasing tension in the body 6. registers (head + chest) as well as the mix between both 7. how to combine each of these pieces at once 8. applying proper technique to any genre Working With A Microphone Jessaii can provide coaching around singing with a microphone and the technique required to sustain a proper, full and consistent sound. Recording On Mic In Studio Jessaii is a recording artist herself and can coach clients while they are working in the recording booth during a session. This can be tailor built to suit the client and the situation so whether it's simply beginning skills that help to develop protocol in a recording session, how to communicate with a producer, building skills in finding harmonies or doubling the vocal, etc. She can work with clients where they are at in terms of experience and skill level. Jessaii helps her clients to discover their own authentic voices whether it be singing for fun and personal development or to support growth as an artist. Singing is a whole being experience that begins with your soul - the deepest core of you. You have got to go within yourself to truly create a relationship to your voice and to music.
